Eurêka! got off to a fantastic start in 2011, with critical and popular hits like Le sexe autour du monde (Sex Around the World), on TV5, and Halima Elkhatabi’s medium-length documentary, La tête contre le mur (Head Against the Wall), which won a Jury’s Special Mention for the Pierre and Yolande Perreault Award at the Rendez-vous du cinéma Québécois in February.  

The web documentary Le sexe aux Etats-Unis (Sex in the U.S.A.) won a Gémeaux for best show or original series for new media: public affairs, documentary, magazine, sports. And the sexeautourdumonde.com website earned Best Website honours for a program or series: public affairs, documentary, magazine, sports.

The Sexe autour du monde team is now hard at work on a second season, scheduled to première in January 2012. In February, the accompanying web documentary series Le sexe au Canada (Sex in Canada) will launch.

Head against the wall is scheduled for broadcast scheduled on Télé-Québec, on November 28.  

Speaking of Télé-Québec, Eurêka! is currently in production on the documentary From Montréal, about the current indie music scene and connections between the city’s anglophone and francophone musicians.
